Thanks Colin, I just wanted to add the in fo that the error obviously came with
the update from 23.04.3-1 -> 23.08.0-1 (tested in a VM that was not updated yet
and worked fine)

I today worked with some more windows opened. Windows do NOT get resized when
closing the lid - but the are moved up to the top of the big external screen
without any need. Opening the lid moves them

Edit: after some testing it seems as the Global Menü addon is the culprit.

I too can confirm this behaviour after 5.24 was out.
When I use laptop with 1920 screen width and about 40% of bottom bar filled
with plasmids and miniprograms from the right hand side the task bar with
symbols only
