--- Comment #36 from rubin110 <ru...@starset.net> ---
I'm also seeing something similar with plasma-desktop 5.7.4 on Debian Sid with
a Thinkpad X1 Carbon 4th Gen, a Thinkpad Onelink+ dock, and a few different
DisplayPort displays plugged into the dock.

KDE doesn't auto-enable the desktop display after the OneLink+ dock has been
plugged in. Checking kscreen-doctor -o I see the port is still disabled with no
listing of geometry. I have to either open up the display settings panel and
enable it there (and yes it's listed there) or do something like xrandr
--output DP-2-2 --auto --right-of eDP-1 to bring it up (and also yes, the
display is listed under xrandr -q without any other tickling).

When I unplug the OneLink+ dock, I can still move my mouse past the edge of my
laptop screen and go into the part of the desktop that was created for the 2nd
display. The display settings panel only shows the laptop display, and xrandr
-q shows the port as being displayed but shows the last known geometry for that
port. Doing an xrandr --output DP-2-2 --off will remove the ghost portion of
the desktop.

And yes I acknowledge the fixes listed here are being pushed out to 5.8. Just
figured documenting my experiences might be good.
