Completely understand with this RESOLVED INTENTIONAL
SHIFT+DEL is apparently somewhat ubiquitous among linux DE (GNOME at least).

You're right. That's one place. The other is the "DEL"

A user in #plasma IRC has pointed out to me that within "Dolphin Preferences ->
Services" there is a "Trash" "service" that is shown in right click file menu.
A user could potentially change the "Delete" key
