            Bug ID: 385724
Summary: Scrolling list of Kate part configuration options
                    changes settings
           Product: kile
           Version: 2.9.91
          Platform: Archlinux Packages
                OS: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: user interface
          Assignee: michel.lud...@kdemail.net
          Reporter: ree...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Note that some menu texts may not match precisely because Kile's interface uses
a mixture of English and Welsh. Hence, some texts have been roughly translated
by me back to English and may not be identical to the content of the English
version.

Settings > Configure Kile > Editor > Open/Save > Modes & Filetypes

Select Markup/LaTeX from menu (why this isn't default in a TeX editor, I don't
know - but that is not a bug, more a wish, and this is a bug report)

Click on the little button to the right of the box containing the options for
'Variables'.

Scroll down through the list with a mouse's scroll button (not using the scroll
bar).

Scrolling through the list of options is dangerous, because some options use
drop-down menus and scrolling past *them* switches the scrolling input to the
drop-down menu. This causes the list to stop scrolling and the default font,
say, to be changed to Symbola or NotoNaskhArabicUI-Bold. Moreover, it is very
easy not to notice this happening *and* the font set here overrides the font
configured under Editor > Fonts & Colours > Font.

Scrolling should switch to scrolling through the drop-down menu only after I
have clicked on that menu to activate the drop-down list. It should not be
activated when I am merely scrolling through the options.
