UPDATE: I believe the issue is related to `kf5-webengineviewer` library.
I am experiencing the same non-rendering behaviour in other apps that do some
"rendering" of messages - akregator

Images and emojis do render hinting it might be a fonts error. Changing message
fonts does not fix the issue unfortunately :/
My guess is that I'm having an issue with the message rendered component. Any
hints
