I get that and have been on the verge of Linux. Just not enough pain yet
with Windows to push me over the edge, but there have been some close calls.

This is really confusing, i just booted my unused Windows Machine and i don't
get those artifacts either.
Can you confirm that when you have a pdf opened on the Help->About backend it
says poppler 0.85?

Hi, I stored the PDF from this bug and opened it with the current Okular
version from the store. I get there no such artifacts, looks more or less like
in the internal preview of e.g. Microsoft Edge.

Hello Albert,
Just to try some things, I opened the file in Chrome (and Brave), Firefox
and MS Edge browsers. None of these displayed the artifact shown by
Okular. I have no other PDF viewers I can test
