is actually enabled by nmcli by default for some reason, so that one isn't

Thanks. I generally use Xbuntu, (ubuntu with xfce4 only), which by default does
not have qt stuffs and KDE. So it requires 250-300MB disk for Kate
installation.

I spoke too soon. I left the laptop for a couple hours and it suspended; the
keyboard was unresponsive (to KDE) when I returned. Alt sysrq reisub worked,
