My use case is that I have a lot of windows open and that I minimize windows
that I only less often. I can focus on the other windows when the minimized
ones can be recognized, especially when there are several windows with the same
icon (e.g. web browser, kwrite, ...).

We've had this feature since Windows 95 at least and the very first KDE
version.
