            Bug ID: 363601
Summary: Hybrid "old-style" desktop view when clicking refresh
                    desktop in Folder View
           Product: plasmashell
           Version: 5.6.4
          Platform: Archlinux Packages
               URL: https://postimg.org/image/z3hy0by2z/
                OS: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
          Assignee: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk
          Reporter: alex.m.gutow...@gmail.com
                CC: bhus...@gmail.com, plasma-b...@kde.org

When I'm using the folder view setting for the Plasma 5 desktop, I can often
get an older style desktop layout (it's laid out exactly like I had on
Cinnamon) when clicking refresh desktop in the upper left-hand context menu.

This layout seems to cover the folder view layout, and I can't interact with
any widgets or items in the folder view after this occurs. I have not found a
way to revert back to the folder view without logging out of Plasma and logging
back in.

This wouldn't be so much of a problem for me (in fact the older layout is
*much* preferred to the folder view!), except for the fact that the older view
is super-imposed upon the folder view.

If at all possible, I would prefer to keep this older style layout, as the
folder view is less functional than this other style. Unfortunately, I have not
found a way to consistently show this older view every time.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Select "Folder View" for desktop settings
2. Open the upper-left context menu
2. Click "Refresh Desktop"
3. Hybrid appears
