Again, as with 287514, I'm not able to confirm it.
In my recent attempts with kmail 5.3.0 (fedora 24), it took literally minutes
to get the list of messages in the INBOX synced (and, indeed,

be able to deal with a large mailbox (the decision was tearing my heart apart,
