Ah, I made another try with the OpenSuse CD, but this time after creating the
contact group, I closed kontact, waited for 5 min, and then re-opened kontact,
and it worked !

Make sure that nepomuk semantic desktop is enabled. If that is the case, try
enabling email indexing,
