Do you still have that kmail2rc in order to compare it with the new one and
find the part that causes the crash?

Also triggered by selecting another folder (issuing the message threading I
suppose)

[Bug 295750] New: Akregator exits even if exit canceled

2012-03-11 Thread Szczepan Hołyszewski
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=295750

Bug ID: 295750
  Severity: normal

  Priority: NOR

Summary: Akregator exits even if exit canceled
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux
  Reporter: rula...@wp.pl
  Hardware: Archlinux Packages
Status: UNCONFIRMED
 Component: general
   Product: akregator

Akregator exits even if the exit confirmation dialog is canceled or closed
through the window manager. Basically, once the exit confirmation dialog is
displayed, exiting Akregator is a certain outcome.

This may well be a (silent) crash. Here's what's printed on the console after
closing the exit confirmation dialog in any way (even with OK):

akregator(12973)/kdecore (KConfigSkeleton) KCoreConfigSkeleton::writeConfig:
akregator(12973)/kdecore (KConfigSkeleton) KCoreConfigSkeleton::writeConfig:
akregator(12973)/kdeui (kdelibs) KXMLGUIClient::~KXMLGUIClient: 0x1a9d7f0
deleted without having been removed from the factory first. This will leak
standalone popupmenus and could lead to crashes.
akregator(12973)/kdeui (kdelibs) KXMLGUIClient::~KXMLGUIClient: 0x171a420
deleted without having been removed from the factory first. This will leak
standalone popupmenus and could lead to crashes.

[Bug 295684] Total loss of e-mail content withspam-filters

Marcus Harrison mar...@harrisonland.co.uk changed:

 CC||mar...@harrisonland.co.uk

--- Comment #1 from Marcus Harrison mar...@harrisonland.co.uk ---
I can confirm this bug. I've received multiple mails from mailing lists that
haven't been filtered because the spam filters have removed not only the entire
body of the message, but a lot of the header information as well (including the
List-ID attribute). This has resulted in the contents of over 100 E-mails being
removed, with no way to retrieve them as the changes have been written back to
the server.

For now, I have switched off these filters, but considering this bug results in
the absolute loss of potentially a lot of data I consider it a very
high-profile bug.

Please check if the Nepomuk query service is still responding when this
happens, by running qdbus org.kde.nepomuk.services.nepomukqueryservice
/nepomukqueryservice. If that fails or hangs, this is caused by the query
service being stuck, restarting Nepomuk should help as a workaround.

Writing back changes is independent of syncing (syncing is only for polling for
remote changes), you get an collectionAdded() signal immediately in this case,
assuming the resource is online.

I can confirm this on openSUSE with 4.8.1. Kmail cannot open emails forwarded
by itself.

It does not matter whether the email is part of an imap account or moved to a
local folder.

To reproduce just forward an email as attachment with kmail to yourself, click
on the forwarded message link in the received email and pick open with kmail
view. It will tel you that the file does not contain a message.

If you use the email structure pane you can access the forwarded email. Hence
the data is accessible, it's just kmail2 view failing to open it.

[Bug 295780] New: Holiday Calendar for Serbia

2012-03-11 Thread Milovan
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=295780

Bug ID: 295780
  Severity: wishlist
   Version: unspecified
  Priority: NOR
CC: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Assignee: jl...@kde.org
   Summary: Holiday Calendar for Serbia
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux

  Hardware: Other
Status: NEW
 Component: kholidays
   Product: kdepimlibs

Created attachment 69504
  -- https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=69504action=edit
Old holiday calendar by some Ubuntu rs member.

Hi, I would like to add holiday for Serbia in KDE calendar. I read directions
from http://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=67t=90320#p170820 (bit old post I
know).
Here is a link from one of Serbian government's websites with complete
calendar:
http://www.minrzs.gov.rs/cms/index.php?option=com_contentview=articleid=336
Unfortunately, there is no English version on the website. What also is missing
are Ortodox holidays when people who celebrate it have day off:
http://sr.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%A1%D0%BF%D0%B8%D1%81%D0%B0%D0%BA_%D0%BA%D1%80%D1%81%D0%BD%D0%B8%D1%85_%D1%81%D0%BB%D0%B0%D0%B2%D0%B0

I m here to help out in translation and whatever it needs to get Serbian
calendar into KDE.

Here is also one holiday calendar that one member of Ubuntu Serbia made back in
2010. Might be helpful so I am adding it in attach.

I am not sure if the format is same so I didn't edit it without consulting
here. Serbia uses Cyrillic (official) and Latin.

[Bug 260597] akonadi ressource crashes if i open contacts in kontact

2012-03-11 Thread Kevin Krammer
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=260597

--- Comment #2 from Kevin Krammer kevin.kram...@gmx.at ---
Since the use case is access to a single vcard file, I'd recommend using the
VCard resource instead.

The KABC resource is intended to be a temporary solution to provide access to
data storage facilities for which there was a KABC plugin but for which no
native new resource exists yet.

For single vcard that is not the case anymore

enough I enabled it afterwards again, but the crash did not return. Kmail is
running now for a couple of hours with nepomuk fully activated without a crash.
As far as I know nothing else changed and I don't think the the relevant
packages in therepository wre updated.

[Bug 294441] kmail stays in offline mode, unable to send emails

2012-03-11 Thread Lamarque V . Souza
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=294441

Lamarque V. Souza lamar...@kde.org changed:

   What|Removed |Added

 CC||lamar...@kde.org

--- Comment #23 from Lamarque V. Souza lamar...@kde.org ---
I am the Network Management maintainer in KDE, I use NetworkManager 0.9 and do
not have this problem. Networkstatus works as expected here.

Is everybody with this problem using only Arch? Does Arch stop NetworkManager
when suspend to disk?

qdbus org.kde.kded /modules/networkstatus
org.kde.Solid.Networking.Client.Status == 1 means some program has marked the
system as Unconnected (offline), usually it is networkstatus that does that.

Restarting kded4 helps with this problem because the networkstatus module
tries to detect the network status when kded4 starts.

Networkstatus has three backends: NetworkManager, Wicd and NTrack. NTrack is
the fallback backend (if it is was compiled) and as so it is used only when
neither NetworkManger nor Wicd are running. I can say NTrack is the most
problematic of those three. If you have NTrack installed I suggest that you
recompile kde-runtime after uninstalling NTrack. There is no other way to
disable the NTrack backend. Enabling NTrack is a decision of the distribution,
in my case Gentoo does not enable NTrack and I do not need it anyway since I
use NetworkManager.

Do do not mess with the configuration in systemsettings - Information Sources.
Use the correct backend (usually NetworkManager 0.9 or Wicd) and that is it. If
you change from NM to Wicd (or vice-versa) change the backend in Information
Source or your network support is going to be unstable or even not work at all.
Never run too network management software (NM, Wicd, ifplugd, etc) at the same
time, choose only one and disable all the others.

I was trying to find this one to close it as FIXED myself, but I got lost in
the new Bugzilla. Anyway, this issue is now irrelevant, because of all the
fixes that came along KDE 4.8.1

Here's a log of running kmail under valgrind. It obviously has serious issues,
many relating to using variables before they're initialized.
