Hello,
Bug was also reproduced in mageia 2 by users *not* using networkmanager. Users
using networkmanager (like me :p ) are not affected ( kde-runtime is built with
nm support).
Building kde-runtime without ntrack support fix the issue.
ntrack version is the 016.

Regards,

ok, in fact i have the same crash with akonadi-google (with the last git) so
i'll report the one i have one for akonadi-google but i'll try to get a more
detailled gdb since it's « quite similar » to this one ( so probably not
useful at all :/ )

Created an attachment (id=64305)
 -- (http://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=64305)
bt of akonadi-google

Ok i'm attaching here the akonadi-google crash (because this bug is already
report from the « small bt i get from Dr Konqui it seems similar in most part
of the akonadi-googledata crash )
I did attached gdb via a gdb --pid to the
/usr/bin/akonadi_googlecontacts_resource use the catch throw command in gdb
(i'm not really used to gdb so maybe there's something more to do)
i also put the bt full result in case of.
Is there anyway to get a more useful bt ? (i think only about attaching to the
pid via a gdb --pid but i'm might be wrong)

[Bug 278060] New: Mailing list detection does not work

2011-07-18 Thread Balcaen John
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=278060

Summary: Mailing list detection does not work
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 2.1.1
  Platform: Mageia RPMs
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: folders
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: mik...@mageia.org

Version: 2.1.1 (using Devel)
OS:Linux

With kmail2 from kdepim 4.7 RC2 ( 4.6.95) when selecting mailing list
management to detect a mailing list the mailing list is not detected.
The folder is an imap folder holding kdepim mailing list with disconnect mode
enable.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Start a fresh kmail2 config add an imap account with disconnect mode enable
Select the folder holding a mailing list try to detect this mailing list

Actual Results:
Nothing happens

Expected Results:
It should work like in kmail1

It does not crash with this patch on 4.6.2 kdebase4-workspace, but maybe it
should also be backport to the 4.6 branch ?

Crash log of kmail crash when switching from short folder list to long folder
list

I can't reproduce it anymore here with kdepim 4.6 beta2 using the initial crash
method aka change in standard template but it's possible to reproduce it with
anssi's method:

switching from short folder list to long folder list,

I've got an imap folder selected, there's no message selected, there's no filter
active (the filtering is done directly on the server via gmail's rule for this
imap account).
I reproduced also this crash even when no folder was selected by simply
changing directly the layout after kmail start
Switching from long folder list to short does not cause crash here (with a
folder selected or not )

The crash is attached again (just in case)

   Product: kmail2

  Platform: Mandriva RPMs
OS/Version: Linux

Distribution: Mandriva Linux 2010.1

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed:

I was writting an answer to a french mailing list using the L shortcut to
answer in the mailing list.
After writing my mail, switching to the correct identity, when i click send, i
can see a popup in french saying that « no charset is available for sending
this mail (or something like that), please report this bug ».
I noticed this 3 times.
After the restart of kmail from drkonqui, the mail i wrote is available (well
there's some missing parts) but i notice that it swichted back to the default
identity (not the one i initially set up) *without* any FROM email, i need to
switch again to the new identity i can send my mail.

The crash can be reproduced some of the time.

--- Comment #2 from Balcaen John mikala mandriva org 2010-09-18 13:41:50 ---
In fact i need to specify UTF-8 Encoding to be able to sent the mail, if i'm
using something else it's crashing, for example choosing us-ascii prompt a pop
up saying :
Encoding the message with us-ascii will lose some characters.
Do you want to continue?
if i accept to loose characters it's crashing.

New crash information added by DrKonqi

akonadi_imap_resource (0.1) on KDE Platform 4.5.67 (4.6 = 20100901) using Qt
4.7.0

- What I was doing when the application crashed:
I was configuring my akonadi ressources to enable server-side subscriptions on
gmail when akonadi-ressources imap crash.
It's also happening on my own imap server (dovecot) sometimes.

--- Comment #3 from Balcaen John mikala mandriva org 2010-08-15 18:16:34 ---
I can confirm here reproduced all the time with this setup.
I noticed it when mandriva cooker upgrade from kdepim 4.4.3 to kdepim 4.4.5
It was working without problem with KDE SC 4.5.0 and kdepim 4.4.3,at first i
thought it was a regression introduced by kdepim 4.4.5 but after a look in my k
ressources for kadressbook i noticed that there's was no akonadi ressource
available anymore (so probably an upgraded problem)
Adding back the akonadi ressource removing the default file ressource fix the
problem
So an easy way to reproduce is it to :
1) Remove all kaddressbook ressources
2) Add a default file empty ressource like ~/.kde4/share/apps/kabc/std.vcf
3) start kmail
4) ensure that autocompletion is enabled
5) start a new mail
6) notice the crash when using autocompletion of contacts

I may add that even after adding back putting by default the akonadi
ressource, kmail is going to crash until you removed the « empty » file
ressource.
(i did not test with a non empty file ressource)
The backtrace again (i think it's the same as the original one)

Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.
