[Akonadi] [Bug 384822] New: Mail filter with no longer work
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=384822 Bug ID: 384822 Summary: Mail filter with no longer work Product: Akonadi Version: 5.6.1 Platform: openSUSE RPMs OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Mail Filter Agent Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org Reporter: christiande...@web.de Target Milestone: --- I have several mail filters for a pop3 account. All the mails are downloaded to one local folder. If one now selects all these mails and chooses "Apply all filters manually" the mails where a filter with criteria "To"=... match get moved to the correct destination folder, however mails where a filter with criteria "List-Post"=... applies, stay in the original folder. This used to work with previous kmail/akonadi versions. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=376981 --- Comment #1 from Christian Trippe <christiande...@web.de> --- As additional info this seems to be caused by duplicated messages in one folder (which get created via bug 322126). When waiting long enough I get the following error dislpayed: Unable to fetch item from backend (collection -1) : Unable to retrieve item from resource: Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken. [Akonadi] [Bug 322871] mail filters do not work for incoming messages if the destination folder of the pop3 resource is not the inbox
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=322871 --- Comment #3 from Christian Trippe christiande...@web.de --- Hi Andras, do I understand you correctly that this is supposed to work after an akonadi restart? This bug is not about mails not beeing moved to the destination folder of a pop3 resource. This works fine. I did not even check if this only works after a restart of akoandi, but about mail filters not working in this setup. I can stll reproduce the following with KDE 4.11 Setup a pop3 resource with destinaton folder A (!=inbox) and A not beeing a subfolder of the inbox but on the same level, e.g. direct subfolder of the local folder. Setup a filter to only apply to messages from this pop3-resource (this means do not apply it to the local folder resource). This filter should move the message to the folder B which is a subfolder of A. Now receive a message which should be moved to folder B by the filter. However the message will end in folder A. However I agree that this issue is miner. In general it makes more sense to ask these questions at the openSUSE bugzilla, mailinglist, etc as upstream as you do not even tell with openSUSE version with which repos you use. But in this case there is already an openSUSE bug (https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=729829) open for this issue with a link to an repo with fixed packages where I am waiting for feedback. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=279297 --- Comment #11 from Christian Trippe christiandehne web de 2011-09-18 16:57:47 --- As written in my duplicate report. The missing mails are neither in ~/.local/share/.local-mail.directory nor ~/.local/share/akonadi/file_db_data As I now already have several mails in the thread with the missing mail I searched in akonadi for the return-path (which seems to be unique for the opensuse-kde list), but no entry in the database was found. (I verified that I could actually find other mails this way.) I am not sure if here the problem may be, that I already restarted akonadi since the download of the missing mail. I will verify this as soon as I recognize another missing mail. (That no mail is in the above mentioned folders is definitely true also before a restart of akonadi.) To answer the other questions: - Local Folders is a maildir resource - Most of my mail is moved via filters automatically to other folders. But I am quite sure I have seen missing mails also appear for mails, where no filter applies. Also the mail is not accidentally in another folder. - Empty trash on exit is enabled. I hope this helps to nail down the problem. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.kde.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs
[Bug 282296] New: mails appear twice in .local/share/akonadi/file_db_data
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=282296 Summary: mails appear twice in .local/share/akonadi/file_db_data Product: Akonadi Version: 4.7 Platform: openSUSE RPMs OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: major Priority: NOR Component: general AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org ReportedBy: christiande...@web.de Version: 4.7 (using KDE 4.7.1) OS:Linux When downloading mails via a pop3 account, it happens that mails appear twice in .local/share/akonadi/file_db_data but only once in .local/share/.local-mail.directory/ In this case kmail shows the message twice. If you now tell kmail to remove duplicate messages in the folder both messages in kmail are deleted and also both entries in .local/share/akonadi/file_db_data and the one in .local/share/.local-mail.directory/. It may be that this only happens for mails where a filter on incoming messages is applied which directly moves them to another folder. I will verify this and report back. Other maybe useful informations: - My local mail folder is a maildir resource. - I am affected by bug 282160 akoandi does not delete mails from .local/share/akonadi/file_db_data - Thomas McGuire said in bug 271231, that this is not a bug of the pop3 resource. IMHO this bug is not about not downloading the mails from the server, but about not saving them locally. 1.) This bug also happens, when you don't have the pop3 resource configured to leave messages on the server, but if you have it configured to remove them after download. This is of course hard to verify, but I noticed missing mails on mailing list posts first in this configuration and only after this switched to Leave messages on the server. 2.) Using Leave messages on the server-configuration: For me it is the same as for Dominik the UID of the locally missing message is in akonadi_pop3_resource_rc. And AFAIU this means the message was downloaded from the server. This means the summary should probably better be Not all mails downloaded via pop3 are saved locally. Sometimes it happens that kmail/akonadi fatches mail from the pop3 server but the mail never appears in kmail. I noticed this because on some mailing-lists I am subscribed to, mails in a thread were missing in kmail. As I am affected by bug 271231 (akoandi stores mails twice locally) I did a grep for some unique string in such a missing mail (after I configured kmail to leave the messages on the server and no longer delete them) for the relevant folders. The string was not found in ~/.local/share/.local-mail.directory and ~/.local/share/akonadi/file_db_data but in the binary-files ~/.local/share/akonadi/db_data/akonadi/parttable.ibd and ~/.local/share/akonadi/db_data/ib_logfile1 I am using the mysql backend for akonadi. I never noticed this with kmail2 from KDE 4.6! If I would have to guess I would say something between 1 out of 20 to 50 mails is affected by this. I see this behaviour with two accounts.
