I create an laposte.net account and work fine here.
Which is you imap setting (not password, not address please)
But SSL ? etc.

I tried with and without SSL as far as i can remember. Clear text
authentication. No server-side subscription, no disconnected mode. I have
regular mail checking activated (interval of 5 minutes)

The problem is still there with KDE 4.8.4, I cannot check emails on a
laposte.net account.
