Just as announced in my last comment, I close this bug. If you encounter it
again in a recent version (at least 5.0 aka 15.08), please open a new one

This bug has only been reported for versions before 4.14, which have been
unsupported for at least two years now. Can anyone tell if this bug still
present?

If noone confirms this bug for a Framework-based version of kaddressbook
(version 5.0 or later, as part of KDE Applications 15.08 or later), it gets
closed in about three months.

I also can not reproduce this. Even if the new resource is under
~/.local/share/contacts/folder.
I tested it with the Personal contacts and vCard-Folder resources.

System: Kubuntu with KDE 4.12.3

yes, all contacts are stored as *vcf

I think I got a workaround. Original problem:
When creating an address resource, the folder ~/.local/share/contacts/ is
proposed.
I added the new resource in the folder ~/.local/share/contacts/New_Folder
A new resource 'personal contacts' appears, which cant be changed.

If you create a new resource in the folder ~/.local/share/x_contacts , the name
can be edited afterwards.

Does that explain?
