In Kexi? ...I think Gentoo's equivalent is the USE=debug flag.

Yes, but then again, the thing that crashes is Kexi, not
KexiReportWriter ...I'll retry anyway.
Btw, does make clean clean out also the binaries

I have tried it, managed to compile it with --disable-arts and ran it, but so
far I haven't succeded
