To mark his 89th birthday, we have invited two speakers who knew President Kim Il Sung personally and who will discuss his contributions to the anti-imperialist, non-aligned and socialist movements in Korea, Asia and the world. SPEAKERS: Dr. Vishwanath: Director General, International Institute of the Juche Idea Secretary-General, International Kim Il Sung Prize Council Publisher, Kim Il Sung Encyclopaedia Dr. Vishwanath, our Guest of Honour, is well-known throughout the world as one of President Kim Il Sung's closest international friends. He met the President on 22 occasions between 1974 and 1994. He has also met General Secretary Kim Jong Il twice. Professor Mohammed Arif: General Secretary, British Afro-Asian Solidarity Organisation Professor Mohammed Arif is an authority on questions of Third World development and a well-known anti-imperialist campaigner, nationally and internationally. He met President Kim Il Sung in 1990.
