Yes the Port Truckers certainly can close the Los Angeles Harbor -
totally close it up tighter than a drum. . And they did so on May Day 2004.

But is not at all certain that "they" (well "we" actually) will do so
again
on May Day 2006. As always it depends on the support and on the organizing
and upon our efforts and our will to overcome obstacles.
If there is an interest please contact Ernesto Neverez and get in
communication. And then let's get going in helping to make this a success.
If. we do close the L.A. Harbor then port truckers all over the country
will
start to close the other harbors also.
And if you are ever in the L.A. Harbor when the port truckers go on
STRIKE you will be AMAZED! - ABSOLUTELY AMAZED - IT IS
MAGNIFICENT!
There are police everywhere - all kinds of police - Highway Patrol,
Sheriffs Dept., LAPD, city police of various cities, and even police brought
in from the central valley etc. - but there is nothing that they can do
because it is not illegal to stop work. And no truckers cross the picket
lines - none whatsoever.- MAGNIFICENT! And 10,000 or so port truckers (and
a few thousand more line driver truckers as well) with their semi - trucks
driving all over the harbor are pretty impressive.
Could any members of this listserv who support the work of the port
truckers and/or the taxi drivers for MAY DAY - 2006 please contact the port
truckers and taxi drivers?
