performed at the August 28th, 1963 March on Washington by Bob Dylan, Joan Baez,
Len Chandler, Odetta and Peter, Paul and Mary. The performance will also
include a few songs that became prominent in the months leading up to the March
from the 1963 Newport Folk Festival with Pete Seeger and the Mississippi
Freedom Singers and in the aftermath (such as Richard Farina’s “Birmingham
Sunday”) and will conclude with a 50th anniversary remembrance of the
assassination of John F. Kennedy on November 22nd, 1963.

All Ages Welcome. Free and Open to the Public.

Light Refreshments Will Be Served.

Len Chandler and I will be interviewed on KCRW's Which Way LA (89.9 FM) hosted
by Warren Olney Wednesday evening at 7:00 PM on the 50th anniversary of the
March on Washington. We will be on the show to discuss the themes of my
upcoming program The Musical Legacy of The Great March this Saturday August 31
at 2:00 PM at the Allendale Branch of the Pasadena Public Library. It is free
and open to the public. I hope you can make it to the performance and are able
to tune in Wednesday evening.

Thank you!

Ross Altman
