I noted during Obama's campaign, where talking heads completely reversed
what he stood for as evidence by his voting record, and his no votes and
abstaining on issues We The People needed REPRESENTATION on, that one news
source pointed out that the media had made as much in that sElection
alone, then they had in the past 10 sElections combined.

So why don't we get truthful news from the Main Stream media?

Cause we're not monetarily making them part of the .01%, and those that
are, won't give them money if they tell us what we need to hear to make
good choices FOR US.

   Dear Friend,

$12.5 million in Iowa. $14.5 million in South Carolina. Nearly $20 million
   in Florida.

It's clear that the media are the real winners in 2012. The Supreme
Court's Citizens United decision gave the wealthiest 1 percent unchecked
power to pick and choose our nation's leaders. And they're doing it by
spending tens of millions of dollars on televised political ads that leave
   voters awash in misinformation.

So what's the broadcast media doing about it? Instead of exposing this
runaway spending and separating fact from fiction in an election year,
they're lining their pockets with the winnings -- to the tune of more than
$3 billion dollars in 2012 ad buys.

[2]Put broadcasters on notice: Don't keep viewers in the dark about
   election money and issues.

Free Press has launched a new initiative to expose the ways in which
big-money politics and broadcast media are poisoning democratic discourse.
Our new report, Citizens Inundated, sheds light on how broadcasters rake
in massive profits from political ads without fully disclosing the moneyed
interests funding these misleading television spots.

Citizens Inundated calls on the FCC to mandate that broadcasters disclose
the deep-pocketed funders behind this torrent of misinformation. They can
do this by placing records of all political-ad spending online and
requiring fuller disclosure in the body of the ads themselves. Our report
also looks at ways in which broadcasters' news programs can do a far
better job of informing viewers in an election year.

This is just the first step in a larger election-year initiative.
Throughout 2012 we'll alert you to ways we can work together to get our
democracy back on course. Start fighting back today.

[3]Demand that broadcasters expose the money trail and cover election-year
                                    issues.

We're asking you to join us and put the largest TV conglomerates on
notice. Demand better disclosure from the companies controlling local
   stations across the country.

We have a historic opportunity this year to advance reforms that will
nurture a media of, by and for the people. Take action and then read
Citizens Inundated to learn more about our plan to fix the media in 2012.

   Thank you,

-- Candace, Tim and the rest of the Free Press team
