Well, I wont be able to do much lace making over the next 2 weeks as I am
supervisong TEE (final year) exams so have spent the last week making my
first piece of lace for the Arachne Card Exchange. I am pleased at how it
has turned out and will add the pricking to the Arachne Exchange pages soon.
I'd pay $200 for that! I think my pocket snake is sitting on top of my

Well, with many thanks to Ilske and Ann-Marie, I have found that my lovely
picture of a mother teaching her daughter Lacemaking is by an English
painter Samuel Barling Clarke painted around 1860.
I thought she looked Victorian and the bobbins were spangled, indicating
an English background.
