I bought some linen thread from a deceased estate. The lady learnt lacemaking in Belgium in the early 1980's. The thread is wound in skeins and there is no label of course. The skein is tied in ten separate little bundles with red thread. I would like to know if the number of bundles is any

Hi Devon and fellow Arachnids, Many bobbin makers use carnuba wax to polish their bobbins. This is a known skin irritant. Some bobbin makers have been badly affected to the point of having to use an inferior polishing wax to continue their work. Sanding the bobbins and varnishing them could help,
