Not to confuse the issue, but.
For newbies and anyone who hasn't been there for awhile,
check out Lenka's wire lace. www.lenkas.com Necklace #3
looks to me very much like some of the Le Pompe patterns.

Just a quick note... I didn't win the paper string raffle :-(
but was so intrigued by the wonderful projects the Oregon
group did for the Pacific NW Lace Conference that I searched
until I found some. If anyone, like me, can't stand to live
without some, you can get it from Evelyn at [EMAIL
Because of all the kind notes of late, and because my name has come up
in the digests I wanted to just say thank you to all who have sent love
and
prayers, and let you all know I am here and doing well. I had Breast

but it was caught early and I am now recovering from Chemo and
Susan,
I would recommend Acrylics as they dry into *literally* plastic. It would
flake off
before it would discolor thread. However I wouldn't paint the neck of the
bobbin and then it won't be an issue. NEVER use oils. Watercolor can be
used
if you use many coats of varnish. Something
Just a quick note to anyone who is interested. There is a brief article
and several pictures of wire lace in Ornament magazine (Spring 2005
issue), made by Silvia Ferdova. The article is entitled Gallery X,

Just a note FYI,
I measured my pillows, and then ran right out to Target to get
some wreath boxes, and found that even though the plastic
boxes were labeled 22in. X 22in. X 6 in, because of the way they
fasten the inside measurement is 18 inches across. The brand
was Style Master. Will check

Howdy all,
I finished a garter not long ago for my sons' dear bride, and it is a
variation of the one in Bridget Cooks Weddings, Christenings and
Anniversaries. I think I enlarged the pattern a bit too. At any rate,
this is the second one I've made, and for the first one I went around

Thanks to everyone for their replies to my question about
Fantasy Flowers. (Also thanks to Sue B. for her generous
remarks about my bobbins). ANYWAY 2 things, first I picked
up a new magazine called Hallmark (yes it appears to be
related to the card company) that is perhaps a cross between
While shopping for some garden flowers, I came across a
Tatted Fern. Very cute! About 12 inch fronds with 1/3 inch
flat half circles (with ruffled outer edges) alternating up the
stems. No botanical name, but was not a Maidenhair (Adiantum).
Anyway, a must have for all us gardening tatters :-)
Bev,
One of the advantages to age-related memory loss, (yes there is
at least one) is that I am able to re-read my favorite books every
few years because I forget enough of the story to make it a joy
to re-read them!

and her finished lace was amazing. (Incidently her husband made
breathtaking lace also). Anyway, I

Just had to reply to this one. I recently finished a garter,
(one of Bridget Cooks) for a dear friends daughter's wedding.
Her dress was candlelight which is a bit like ivory. The only
thread I had in that color was a fine cotton, and the only gimp
a sample spool of surgeon's silk. It turned
