I was in Honiton earlier this year and the Lace Shop is now a Chinese
restaurant. :o( All that's left is the words carved into the stonework of the

When I work my cordonette I usually lay in a couple of threads in the
colour I am buttonholing with. These threads and the snugly worked
buttonhole over the top will more than cover the base thread you have
used for the foundation I would think.

It was interesting to see all the different bobbins in the catalogue

Well done you. I can see that you have improved as you went round
the piece. Quite a challenge for your first piece I think, roseground
can take a little getting your head round, if it's your 3rd or 4th
piece of lace but on your first!?
