My DH of 47 years has a neat sense of humor. I was still in college and
on a date one evening he gave me a nicely wrapped box. He told me that it
was a special gift and go ahead and open it. I did, and inside was a carrot
(vegetable). He said that that was the only kind he could afford
It is what my grandmother called an eyelet maker. That is what she used
hers for at any rate.

Someone would pay $850 - for a doll??
I know several doll collectors and you would be amazed at the amounts paid
for dolls.

Oh how I wish I were more
Drat it, I wish I had known about a lace maker in Myrtle Beach. We have a
time share vacation in MB and were there last week for our annual break at the
beach. I had a lace pillow with me and would love to have met another lacer.

I wanted to thank you for my lovely card and ornament. I received it last
week and it is already on my lace Christmas tree.
My card will be ready to mail to California before the deadline I hope.
Oh a major miracle story to relate to you all (or all ya'll, since I am from
the deep South).
I would like to sign up for the exchange when it gets going.

I am working on a lace edging for my granddaughters' wedding hankies. I
thought I had better get started since I have four delightful granddaughters.
They are ages 3,2,1 and 4 months, so I think I may have enough time to get it
done.
I am also working on a bookmark designed by Debbie Beaver
When we were in Turkey a few years ago, the only lace I could find was
needlelace. If you are in Istanbul there is a weekend 'faire' not sure what they
call it but it was tables with goods spread out on them. I bought some yardage
of lovely needlelace there. Also a lot of the head scarves
