Hi
I highly recommend Tom Marguccio's Idrija bobbins. He is an outstanding
woodworker and has a special affinity for Idrija bobbins as his wife Allie
is an Idrija lacemaker and teacher.
Tom's site is http://www.designsbymarguccio.com. Allie's is

Wow - what an excellent page about the painting! Be sure to click the

You may be surprised to learn that the lacemaker is fiercer than she first
appears. ; D

Hi
First and foremost, I am envious! What a wonderful acquisition. I've never
done business with them, but the site Tombolo Disegni sells Italian bobbin
lace equipment (http://www.tombolodisegni.it/TOMBOLO DISEGNI.html). I
can't vouch for them one way or the other, but it's worth a look!
Hi
While it's not a definitive answer for when the book was first published,
WorldCat has one record showing a 1913 publication date:

At least *some* of the laces from the Blen site had been fairly well
photographed -- with some even diagrammed for further help in understanding

Museum held a special exhibition of their laces to coincide with
