recall ever having seen curved reticella (as created) from woven cloth...You
could (the stitches, or) would have made a straight piece and just shaped it
to fit. (If you) laid in foundation threads (then it would

Perhaps an overly simplistic approach, and my memory may have slid, but I
thought there was a reference to Corticelli Buttonhole Twist?
My rough guess
(without getting out my supply) would be that it is very roughly comparable to
#8 perle cotton, or perhaps #12? Of course perle cotton would not

sister got similar comments to her queries about why most things were white,
when buying heirloom pieces for all the family in Belgium. The sales clerks
said you can get white really clean and remove stains, but really hard with
anything else.
