The September issue of Kant, the Belgian lace magazine, has just arrived here. It seems that the problem with lacemakers being advanced in years is a geographical problem and not a lace problem. There is an article about the 25 th Bruge lace day in the magazine. The people demonstrating lacemaking were all youngsters with young visitors from Schneeberge and Poland and there are photographs of these rows of young people making lace! I wonder how many of them do manage to keep up with the hobby once the job and family responsibilities start.
