This came to me directly, but was meant for lace. And I haven't seen it on lace as re-posted by Jeanette herself (possibly South Africa has to pay the price of being at the edge of the world even whn it comes to *e* communications? <g>), so...

Subject: Re: [lace] Piper's silk

Threads from Pipers can be ordered direct from the website or from a
particular dealer in Geelong. They only take about 5 days from the UK
though.>>

I also had difficulty with ordering Piper's Silk. I was halfway with a
project when the silk ran out and our local supplier was away on an extended
trip. Recalling previous threads on Piper's, I ordered via the internet
only to receive a message that delivery will be six weeks and then to hear
later that the thread I wanted was not available. The lady on the other end
was very apologetic and I assumed they had some problem or other.
Fortunately our supplier had by then returned and I finished my project - a
Schneeberger doilies (sp?) which was to be the skirt for a half-doll. She
looks very nice. This experience has not put me off trying to order again.
We are used to waiting, and waiting, and waiting for orders to appear!
