I was taught that most laces do not have a right or wrong side - the side
that looks the best is the right side. I was also taught that a spider
should have a nice raised body and to this day I still like a spider with a
hump. So many men , so many minds!!

Surely, if you make a spider standing proud as you are working it, when you
turn the lace over, it will stand poke out on the other side too. Just like
chain gimp in Russian lace - they show on both sides. One place you'd have
