Hi All
Lace8 is great - if you haven't upgraded and have a computer that is
compatibly buy it now if only for the new print preveiw option. There are
lots of other new features, some of which I like and some not so much but the
print preview is wonderful. Gone are the days when you have to
I have upgraded too. I also love the print preview and the fact you can put a
picture on the design page and of course the fact you can save as a JPG file.

I also like the print preview, having multiple designs open at once,
grouping items, bold lines on girds and drawing twists but I miss the
preview file on opening; the zoom and centre button; all layers on / all
layers off choice; and find it long-winded to do various other things which

Has the re-do button been re-instated? I understand this was in the first
version but is missing from R-XP.
Annoying when you have drawn in a long trail and the lose the rhythm and go
wrong. Hit undo instead of item select, delete. Those of you that use the
programme will know that undo
Oh yes! That is probably the best bit!! The re-do button is BACK! Sorry, I

Hi Susan and fellow Arachnids,
I use a vacuum cleaner drive belt from an electrical goods shop. There is
also a drive belt in some videos that fits. So a radio/TV repair shop might
be able to help you. Take your winder to your friendly repair shop(s) to
try. Mine was fascinated and quite
Guys,
Have any of you watched the new Shakespear trillogy opening play;
Richard II.
Yes I know it's machine lace but the gold lace in Ben Wishaws
white tunic gown was mesmerising. The guy can recite shakespear beautifully
but I kept tuning out to look at the pattern.
I've googled but can't

Has anyone found any problems in opening designs done
under R-XP or 2000 with the new Lace 8?

wondering what took it so long to get here.

No, that has been possible - back to .lc5 files anyway. I couldn't track
down my .lc1 files to try out. They now get saved as .lc8, so you will need
Lace8 to open any of the files saved as .lc8. You can't share them with R-XP
users for instance

One thing I've had a problem with is selecting items in designs which were
done in R-XP. If I want to delete a dot, I can't do it by right clicking and
I can't mark it with select item. I have to use Group select and then it
will mark it. Same thing happens with other items from a Lace R-XP
Yes, Jacquie.just for you! And Undo no longer takes out the whole trail.

There is that, definitely.

And I've just opened a couple of RXP files to try again, both of which work
OK for me. I use the Item Select button all the time and don't have any
trouble with selecting a particular dot with the Item Select button.
