Hi my fellow lacemakers,
It's a long long time, I did not write anything, but I'm staying loyal to the

I don't know if you consider Deventer in the Netherlands in the Bruges Area.

Just wondered if anyone else is going this year? We will be at The Holy

there is a day when we have funding to do a study on the prickings at

I agree with Alex Darlene. I make bobbin lace and am a tatter! The hardest

Dear Alex et al,
This is exactly what I thought would be out there. Thank you so much for
sharing. I have met people who lost eyesight, and ended up just sitting, or
something close to it. That does not to happen. I especially like the
video camera option. One eye, if the sight is ok,
My mum had on e eye removed as a consequence of melanoma in 1981, and went on
to learn machine knitting (without anyone in the class knowing that she was

Dear Barbara,
Thank you so much for speaking up. Especially as a lurker. The more people who

Don't know if someone else has mentioned it, but I'm sure there was mention
in a UK Lace Guild magazine some time ago of a blind lacemaker who used
prickings upside down so she could feel the raised bits on what is normally
the underside of pinholes.

As usual, it's conversations on Arachne that have prompted a new poem.

Why oh why when I write an email in Plain Text, and make sure every
paragraph mark in my original has been changed into a manual line feed by
doing a global search and replace, does the Arachne email machinery take
some of the manual line feeds out? If you want to keep my poem, can you

I would like to thank all of you for the encouraging messages and the beautiful
poem.
My problem, right eye sight, I need to have my pillow, very close to my face.
I tried a few times, trying to find the good way for me...

Hi Noelene and fellow Arachnids,
This is another lovely poem Noelene! You are so clever in following the
recent thread of discussion. If I may have your permission I'll print it and
take it to my classes as they'll love it as well and several students are
not on line.
Thank you very much
