have just seen thread about mounting lace, do be sure that you also wash the
material that you are mounting the lace to as shrinkage on this will also
distort your lace.

Thank you for your replies to my message, both on and off the list. It was
interesting to read your opinions.
So far I have only used laminated prickings for patterns where the pins
are far apart and I feel I am more accurate when I place the pins while
I have just had a brief look at some of the first page of items. The first
one was just heavenly and some others just beautiful. Such a beautiful
assortment to types and stitches, some more pleasing to my senses than

My name is Sue T and I have just taken possession of my new book from the

At first glance it looks fantastic and I have promised to let the authors
know what I think of it. I have told them that initial flick through it
looks great and has already fired me up to try

I think that's true of BL too. If you take a piece of fine, old lace,
photograph and enlarge it and compare to similar but coarser, well made
modern lace you nearly always find

I have a snare drum stand. It works well with my
smaller pillows -- up to 18 inches. It is very light
weight and the legs have limited spread. My 20 inch
pillow will perch on it but I have to be careful not
to bump it. It will be top heavy.
My stand folds up
Dont miss the boat trip it is most enjoyable, I took my family down to
Greenwich by boat and we also visited the tea clipper Cutty Sark which the
menfolk enjoyed tremendously.

Welcome to the group. Actually, there is a solution for you on starting
Bucks Point: just buy another pillow. Some laces and their time on the
pillow
aren't measured by inches
think might be a good idea too, at some time before I
make it, is to try working a small leaf piece and see if I like it before
working a whole fan and being unsatisfied with it. Worth the extra work I
think.

few are full semi- circles but most are a little less.

Hello everyone,
Three of us had a trip to Buckingham Palace yesterday, where this year's
special exhibition is 80 evening gowns from the Queen's wardrobe, as well
as
three suites of jewellery - diamonds, emeralds
Andrea, I have just looked in my copy of that book and with 41 pairs in that
edging I think that it is a real effort on your part to complete a yard and
half in three weeks, well done I am sure she will like it, it's a very
pretty pattern.
