Oh dear, oh dear! Tim Wonnacott was showing a lacemakers' lamp on today's
'Bargain Hunt'. He said that every bit of light was needed because Honiton
and Nottingham! lace were so intricate. Obviously his researchers didn't do
their job properly if they didn't discover that Nottingham lace is
must remember this is the man who, I think, identified a bobbin
winder as a table top spinning wheel!

trying to finish one of 4 lace angels for Christmas presents, when DH
suddenly sat up in his chair and said 'That's a bobbin-winder! The teams
were buying in the Portobello Road market and there were some pretty

I've finally had a reply to the email I sent to the BBC about the
misidentification of a wooden bobbin winder as a 'fancy spinning wheel' in a
TV antigues programme caled 'Bargain Hunt'.
They've acknowledged the mistake and apologised for it, saying they've
passed the comments on to the
