An updated webconf.lrp for Bering-uClibc is now available at:

http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/leaf/devel/nangel/webconf/lrp/webconf.lrp

This version has the following new features:

+The mini_httpd web server no longer needs to be root (you can now use the
default sh-httpd user)

+The problem with the shorewall configuration page taking 1-2 minutes to
 load has been fixed.

+New links at the bottom of the page for "top" and "home"

+webconf now comes with an /etc/init.d script that will look for
<packagename>.lwp files on the boot media for all packages loaded; It will
install these files if found. The init script can be further configured via
the /etc/webconf/webconf.conf file. (This makes it possible for 3rd party
plugins to be loaded automatically)

+A number of typographical errors were fixed.

---

Updated Installation instructions are here:

http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/leaf/devel/nangel/webconf/doc/webconf-configuration.html

A Revised Developer's Guide is here:

http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/leaf/devel/nangel/webconf/doc/webconf-howto.html

---

Note: It is expected that this will be the last version with dropbear and
keyboard "basic" plugins built into the base webconf. Future versions of
webconf.lrp will most likely have dropbear and keyboard as separate plugin
packages.

---

For developers, please review the new Developer's Guide. There are some
significant changes to this release from a developer perspective.

+The haserl cgi interpeter can now drop permissions - making it possible to
run cgi's as a less-privledged user. (security enhancement)

+The haser cgi interpeter now forks a single sub-shell, and environment
variables now survive through the life of the .cgi (Thanks to Arne Bernin for
providing suggestions and help for this enhancement.)

+Leaf Webconf Plugins now have their own package type (.lwp)

+The .webconf files were moved from /var/lib/lrpkg to /etc/webconf
