There will be a meeting next Wednesday November 6 @ 7pm to form a local
peace group in the Carlton and Fitzroy areas.
The meeting will take place at 7pm at Genevieve's cafe in Carlton, (233
Faraday St Carlton, near the old Carlton Cinema)
The Victorian Peace Network has called for residents to set up local
groups. Some Fitzroy/Carlton/Inner City residents attended the VPN
teach-in on how to set up local groups and decided to make a start.
Everyone opposed to the war on Iraq and in tune with the VPN ethos is
welcome. (See www.vicpeace.org)
Draft agenda items:
1. Planning for the major peace rally on 1/12. Possible strategies:
leaflet distribution, stories for local papers / radio, other ideas,
video screening, stalls etc.
The aim is to publicise the rally locally and also establish
neighbourhood peace action groups.
