Hi Frank,
Are you doing the Search IGI for completed ordinances? If so, after you
have reviewed the matches and found the right person, with the Family tab
foremost, at the bottom left of the screen you will see a radio button that
says Update Legacy Spouse, and with the Parents tab foremost you
and event entitled Usual Place of Residence which I always
generate when the death place is distant from the normal home place.
Great idea -- I like that ! Thanks, Alice.

Hi Pat,
IMHO it is of equal importance to indicate both the place of residence and
the place of death if they differ. Death certificates are extremely

Hi Dee,
The way you posted it originally is the way I enter the data when there is

Hi Susan,
I got one. It was a blank email with an attachment. I noticed someone
else responded to Pat's email and wondered why they could read it and mine
was blank. I was tempted to open the attachment, but know better, so I
simply deleted it. I can't say it's comforting, but at least there

I agree with making 9 visible. Also
I enter the child with the parents, then mark the end of the child's **given
name** with a tilde (~). On Family View for both the parents and child, the
tilde is a clear indicator something is amiss. On Individual view for the
child, the tilde at the end of the given name is also in evidence.
