I think it's either legacy or legacy7.

What is the password for installing version 7?
Thank you

I, too, recently developed his problem and after deleting these unknowns
am now able to perform a backup.
Thank all!

that's not what is causing my problem. Could it be that I need to give some

Go to Help Show Help Index. In the index box start typing
in Problem. Look at the list below the box and you'll see a
Problems: Report item. Double click on that item and in the
window on the right hand side you can scroll down about
halfway and you'll see the answer.

I haven't tried this, but I think if you go to Customize
Data Format Letter Case of Surnames and select either
UPPERCASE or Don't change what I enter should work.

is checked in the next section below... Displaying Surnames.
If this doesn't work for you maybe someone else has a better
answer.
Michele,
Go to Options, Customize, View, and check box that say's
Display custom generation line colors on screen in the
Ancestor Color Coding box. Then when you are in family view
you'll see a corresponding colored box to the left of the
tag boxes.

Jim,
I had this problem quite a while ago and if I remember
correctly I think I fixed it by changing the color scheme
back to the Legacy default. Not sure which scheme I had
changed to that seemed to have caused the problem.

To be somewhat fair to the Legacy people, the way I
understand it is, in the interim a female can have a close
male relative (preferably a brother or cousin from her
father's male side) tested for Y-DNA info. Not the solution,
I understand, but a workaround until the programmers can fix

I think all is fine with the relationship calculator. If I'm
on the left side and I want to know how I'm related to my
5th great grandfather, the relationship box tells me I'm his
5th great grandson. I checked the help file for an
explanation of how to interpret this but didn't find
anything.
Oops! Totally missed the part about printed report.
There's definitely a problem as I can reproduce it also.

I think that's supposed to be part of the upgrade. I noticed it also when I did
the download and all is well.

This happened to me once before and I think I was able to
fix it by highlighting myself and selecting Apply Ancestor
Colors again. I think this happens when you add people since
you last applied the colors.

I had the exact same problem on the .117 .118 updates and
had to go to the Legacy website and download the program and
reinstall it both times. It appears the more they fix it the
more it breaks.
Nonetheless, it's working for me now.

I just downloaded and installed version .117 and now I can't
get Legacy to prompt me for the starting family on startup.
My wife and I each have our own databases and when I set the
prompt for starting family option and save, then exit
Legacy and restart, it always starts with last used
I accidentally deleted someone from my database. However, I
do have a backup. I'm sure it's possible to just restore a
single person with all their information. Can some tell me
the best way to do this?
Thanks in advance,

Cathy,
Thank you for the suggestion. I was able to look at the
files removed and noticed that one of them was named
ciaXPRegSvr20.dll so I restored it and tried Legacy and it
appears to be OK.
Thanks again for your help

Walt,
Not sure if this is exactly what you want but if you open
your Legacy database and click on the icon titled Marr List,
you will get a window that lists all MRIN's and the people
associated with them. Then at the bottom left hand corner is
a button marked Options. Click on that and one of
Go to Customize General and where it says Popup
Information Boxes, click on Popup automatically.
