I don't if this is the only case, but I have names italicized when the
gender is not specified. This could be a data entry error or an
actual case of unknown gender - e.g. an unnamed stillborn child or a

Thanks, Cathy and everyone who responded. I checked out Virtual Earth

interest me.
Looking forward to trying this in V7.

I know that there are different methods of recording variant surname
spellings. Generally, my pattern is to use the earliest spelling
(typical in baptism record), unless it's an obvious
spelling/transcription error as opposed to spelling variant, and
record the others as alternate names. However,
I set up my Index view to display the 1st Alternate Name in order to
more quickly identify the married names of women (particularly in
cases like the 4 Anne unknowns, 7 Elizabeth unknowns, 10 Sarah
unknowns, 11 Mary unknowns...).
My only problem is that in a few cases, the married alternate name

what I want out of it.
So, anyway, instead of using the 1st Alternate Name, I'll use the
preferred spouse name. That's probably a more effective use of the
Index columns.

Maybe no one else would do this, but just in case.
I did a manual merge of two individuals, then realized that they might
not be the same person after all. So, I did an undo merge.
Unfortunately, not reading very carefully (distracted by barking
puppies) when I did the merge, I *thought* I had

for me.
I'm not worried about the brackets being stripped on export because
they are only intended as temporary markers for my personal research.
Thanks to everyone for your suggestions.

In a few situations I have identified a highly probable death or
burial record for an individual, but the record isn't strong enough to
stand on its own. I still want to record and display this
information, yet clearly see that it is probable, still needing
further investigation and support.
So,
OH! I completely missed that in the Master Location List. So, it is
being interpreted as a location, which is a big relief. Thanks!
Still the problem of the display in the Pedigree view. I need to
easily see that a date or location is *probable* - yet in a way that
