You don't need to copy all pictures from CD. Copy only that you want to use
with Legacy.

If you haven't did it yet, try to uninstall and then install again both PDF
Reader and Open Office. Then blank the fields for alternate PDF reader and
Word processing on Options/Customize/Launch.
Then try open the files again within legacy.
