I had this working well up to a week ago, I'm not aware of having altered
anything, but it has not worked for a week with my Legacy data.
It has however transferred word documents from one computer to another.
Is there someone out there who can talk me through this please?
many thanks for any help
Help please,
Have just had a try at printing a simple 4 gen chart and would like to make
the printing in the heading and in the body of the chart larger.
Have clicked everything I can find, then read the HELP files to no avail.
Is there a tutorial or CD for charting? I think I need one !

Many thanks JL, I think I can follow that!
At the moment I have a folder for each family, for census, docs, emails
etc. Then another folder within My Pics for the photos of each family. It
look like I need to combine these and then link to Legacy not store within
the programme.
Thanks again.
I use the free programme called Irvanview to crop and print my census
images. That way when printing, you do not get all the nasty black edges. I
also use this programme together with the 'print screen' facility when
saving newspaper articles and printing out from the digital photos of
documents.
JL,
This sounds good to me, how about providing a simple step by step guide for
us to follow please.
Using nana' steps for me please!
I have managed to link pictures using the picture centre process, and have
them stored in the Legacy pictures folder within my C drive.
So maybe its a similar
I have just read in a Gene magazine, that someone else has set up a database
in Exel for her certificates, using the Birth = B1 Death = D1 system. That
way she can sort and find to her hearts content. Great for those of us who
are compulsive list makers!

Replies to the list please, I am also interested in this one and I suspect
many others will be also.
I am looking for one that will hold Legacy and allow me to email while away
from home, so it needs to have the capacity for my address book as well.
Thanks

Many thanks to Lawrence and Kris, for your help, it is the tree within
Legacy that I was trying to find.
It is currently well hidden, so I am very grateful for the directions to it
Kris, as it is exactly what I was seeking.
Many thanks.

I am looking for a template to use for producing a simple 4 gen tree, that
will include a photo of each person for my young grandchildren. Ideally I
would like to use Legacy charting, but I cannot find a background that shows
an image of just a single large tree.
Has anyone else done this? I
Here in New Zealand the service is wonderful, I paid and ordered the book,
CD and download late Friday NZ time, woke up Saturday morning and there were
my password and instructions.
The instructions must have been very good as all went smoothly even though I
am blonde!
Many thanks to the lovely
I have read all the replies to both George's and my enquiries with great
interest, then had another play with the Paperspast website in NZ.
The answer for me seems to be as follows:
Once the selected item appears on the screen select 'view computer generated
text' then save the item as a text
I am also having this problem. I save items from old newspapers online by
using the print screen button then open and edit in Irfanview.
I have tried to copy and paste them into 'notes' for each person but it
doesn't work.
I guess there is a better way, hopefully someone out there will know.
Thanks Cathy,
I had just arrived at the same conclusion! will install charting on my
husband's computer as it is connected to the printer.
Think this will be the simplest solution for me.
Many thanks for you rhelp.

I just love the charting facility and want to share it with the wider
family.
Is there some way I can get a test 2 page descendants tree from my laptop
to my USB then to my husband's set up with printer?
My usual method is to use the 'right click
