God evening,
I do research in India, and on many occasions the mother's name isn't given
on a birth/baptism record, e.g.

Hi Colin,
I should have explained myself better, apologies. I did mean that
there was plenty of space on the flash drive. I had mentioned that in an
earlier post.
Problem now solved, see next post.

Hi Evert,
Thanks for that suggestion,
snipYou probably have all the files in the root K:, put some of the files
on the flash drives in folders and try again.
That's done the trick, I'm now able to save Legacy to my flash, and also
open other .fdb files that I couldn't before.
Thank you
Hi Colin,
A Legacy Users Group in Brisbane would be wonderful. I've been using
Legacy for a few years, but what I know is 'dangerous'. A lot of these posts
leave my mouth gaping, as to what can be done. I don't understand the value
of the Master Source, clipboard, I could go on and on.
Hello again everyone,
I'm sorry to have had to take a couple of day's break from this
thread, and I thank you all for your help and patience.

Hi Jack and Elizabeth,
As suggested by you both:-

Hi Ricardo,
I tried as you advised, as below, but that's not the problem, as I
don't have any .ldb extensions.

Wynthner,
I do back up to the hard drive and CD, but also use the flash for
everyday opening the file. It's the habit I've got into, I suppose.
It's just that I can't open the fdb. file at the moment, from the
flash drive, and hoped for some help/clues as to what to do.
Cheers,
Helo Mary,
I've had a couple of 'crashes' also, and lost several weeks worth of
research, it's a sinking feeling, and maddening.
Thanks for your advice.
Cheers,
Jill

Jack,
I trust you haven't broken any 'crowns' lately???
I'm unsure what you mean by the 'read only' switch on the flash drive. I've
'right clicked' the drive in ' my computer ', but there is no mention of
that option.
Cheers,
Jill, not tumbling after. lol.

Hi Gene,
There's no slide switch on this flash drive, nor on another I have.
Maybe they are a much newer invention?

Hi Cathy,
Thanks for that reply. I do get a relationship name, but only
HUSBAND and WIFE, not g/aunt, or g/son etc. as I used to. So I am only
getting the relationships of the highlighted person and their spouse
as Hus. and Wife., and not their relationship to the 'starting
person.
Hello Renee,
To show 1/2
siblings:-
In the family view, right click on a child's name,
click 'view', and make sure 'show 1/2 kids' is ticked.
