Hi kb,
I had the same problem as you, I had not used the index view before so
I thought that I would try it when I read your post. I
Legacy makes a gedcom, for
there to be an option to cause the creation of a matching file
containing copies of all objects referenced, with the references
referred to that file. On distribution, the references should work
provided the directory is common.

I'm using De Luxe Legacy 6 v 6.0.0.133 under XP.
The Index View is useless, because I get only slightly more than one
column displayed per page. The slider control for pan seems to detent
to each column, precluding smooth motion. Options doesn't help,
Customize

with hardware problems so I may go dark quite soon..

Sure be nice if Legacy has a way of checking gedcoms before they get
posted to the web.

I have used Gramps many times and it it does preserve the ID's. There
is also a windows port that should make the install a little easier in
windows. The grdb files

which would support Intellishare merges back into my database. (also

Hello
1. How are you inputting your census info? I'd like to track the census
history for families and be able to see all at one time.
2. If GenSmarts creates a list of census I should check, how can I check off
that I've already done so in the Legacy 6.0 program so that it
detail text doesn't
easily show up, however. That is a bit of a downer.

Hello
and Replace tool. For this case, you would probably see the
data alternating with lines of table framing. Copy one of the latter as
the search text, enter nothing in the Replace By box and click to
replace all. Not perfect, but gets you legible tables with half the space.
