You are most likely correct. I was not aware that the length of the signature
line was a matter of such importance. However
Wait a minute . . . Watkins?!? . . . as a possible distant relative, I
must accept this immediately and ask: Any connection to the Watkins in
Oneonata NY in the mid 1800's?
