Very true.
It's fine for a census, for example, because they generally only happen
at regular intervals and on an identifiable date. Residence and

Debbie,
I've noticed one potential problem with your solution, namely, that
you don't necessarily know that the person concerned was in that
particular occupation for all the time between those two dates, s/he
may have moved jobs a bit, may have been unemployed for some of the
time, Etc. So, this

Jenny,
I don't *think* what you want is possible in the way you describe.
Here's what I've done. My great-grandfather was a policeman with the
Royal Irish Constabulary. I have some citations he received and
details of where he served, so I've just created 4 separate
Occupation events for him,
is it? :)

You can/need to use 31 March 1851 - 4 April 1853 in place of 31
March 1851 and 4 April 1853.
But that means from 31 March 1851 to 4 April 1853 which is a very
different thing to 31 March 1851 and 4 April 1853..

I would add two, because it you were to find another occupation between
the two dates later on, and you add that in as a new one, then it will
just slot between them.
I've added loads for one
occasions, rather than
make 2 separate Event entries.
Good Luck
