Hi Rob, I don't think you'll find a consensus. They're different. TreeDraw gives you total control as you can edit every element of the chart. Legacy Charting Companion draws some nice pretty charts but you can't edit them at all. It's rather complicated process of trial and error in Legacy

Can I just put a small plug for Genelines (its universal edition reads Legacy direct) It does 1. Particularly nice fan type charts which I've used as wedding presents etc. 2. Very nice timeline charts - you list your events you want to display - duration of civil war etc, and the ancestors are
