Susan,
I take it you didn't send this from your laptop!
I think you need to go to the Legacy Home Tab, then Options at the top right
select Options again and check connect only when a link is clicked. If this
is the problem it is not connected with the latest version - it's always

Thanks to everyone for their replies. I wish I had thought of

possibility of getting the internet. (I even brought the laptop to the
window to see if I could get free wireless somewhere, but they were
all secured signals.) Ron, I was

Alan, There is far too little information here to enable suggestions to be
made, Does it happen from cold, do you get any error messages, does it
only happen under certain circumstances etc etc,

Hi Ron,
Sorry for the lack of information.
I've been running this version of Legacy for some considerable time
Dawn,
I tried turning off the alarm and it made no difference.
I forwarded a copy of my database to Henry Peterson. Hopefully, he can
duplicate and resolve the problem.
Thanks,

I just received a message from you to the Legacy list that was about
9000 KB. I don't know what it contained because I had to go to my server
and delete it to stop the download. I have dial-up so I would appreciate
it if you would be more careful in the future and not send something

Everyone,
I truly appologize for sending that large file to the mailing list instead
of just to Henry. As you will see, I am using gMail for this mailing list. I
hit reply to all so I could get Henry's address and then deleted the list
from the cc: line. Something definitely went amiss. GMail
Everyone,
Henry did some magic and sent the file back to me in working order.
Recall that I said I exported two family lines and they both worked well.
After I posted my query I also exported the remaining family line (the one I
accidentally sent to everyone) and when I opened it it worked
When I posted a similar problem, I was advised to turn off the alarm.
I didn't even realize it was set, but clicking on "options", then
"alarm setting" and changing it to "off" solved the freezing that I
experienced.

Hi Group,
I'm sorry to report I'm experiencing the same problem (Ie Legacy 6.0.0

the same time. I have come across this or something similar myself. What
seemed to happen was that Legacy would simply disappear from the screen
