I just read with interest your digital filing system. I like the idea of
using an MRIN “prefix” to the file number. I, too, have just about
everything scanned and, since I never print documents from Legacy, having
them automatically fall together by MRIN would be very helpful. There’s

Rob,
I am very busy at the moment but will try and help if I can. I take it that you
are using the Family Group option to create the web pages. Because I have
little time it would help if you have your pages on the web. If so can you
please give me the URL and the full names of the people.
The Master Sources are not usually connected to any specific MRIN.
That's why they don't have MRIN numbers. For instance, as you mention,
a cemetery listing. If the number for the entire document was 5013,
that number would automatically refer to a digital document numbered

Just to clarify on the use of the MRIN. In the case of a census record,
the MRIN used is the MRIN of the head of the household, and that is

of a death certificate the same. Only the MRIN of the deceased applied

It's not as hard as it may seem. Do you have many people the same in
both files or is there just one point of connection? You only have to
merge the common folks. Everything else just flows together.

I've read the help files and tutorials on publishing to the web. It

it as complicated as it sounds?

Actually, it depends on what era you are working in. You'll find the
district divided into several counties over the years including
Alexandria county back when the district included part of the Virginia.
D.C. is another one of those in which you have to watch for wandering lines.

I would also start by backing up both filesjust in case. Legacy's

My quick ? fix is as follows.
Get the RIN count for each file. Round up each to the

I actually meant [[not Westmorland]] England. My bad.
It puts the 'need to fix' in the list together instead
of a following question mark. (Chicago?) which gets
