Hi Cathy,
Your suggestion sounded like it might work. I've already moved on with my
Legacy.fdb export/import file but I went back to the old, (yesterday),
corrupt file and tried importing CS defaults and also from repaired file and
neither worked.

You could try resetting the Child Status List by importing the Defaults
When in the Master Child status list
Options button
Import
tick Child Status and then the Import Defaults button.
I would think that would have the same effect as exporting to a new
family file - which isn't
When I rt click in children area of a family, then select Children setting
from the drop down menu I get the usual pop-up window.
If I then select the down arrow next to Relationship to Father, (or Mother
I get list of 11 possible selections starting with Adopted. OK so far.
